NASA Supercomputer Ranks Among World’s Fastest

NASA has recently upgraded its premiere supercomputer facility located at Ames Research Center and now it has been granted the sixth spot on the Top500 list of the most powerful super computers in the world.

This extreme machine has been built with 14,080 intel Xeon quad-core Processors (56,320 , 110 racks) running at 544 trillion floating point operations per second on the LINPACK benchmark which is the industry standard for measuring a system’s floating point computing power.
