I want to be a Mobile App Developer! part1
Well i think Mobile App Development is the hottest field in todays computer world as many Mobile Platforms are available and more and more Smartphones are getting touched by people.
So if you’re planning to be a Mobile App Developer, choosing a platform is crucial to your success. IphoneOS, Android, Symbian e.t.c simply creates confusion either if you are planning for Short or Long term achievements. Well its always upto you to choose the horse you wanna ride but here are some guidelines which might help you win or compete in the race
IphoneOS
The Market of Iphone apps is saturated but on the other side its market share is high, means competition is heavy and if you are on a solo flight then things can be messy :S.
- SDK for Iphone is available for free and if you are familiar with Java then the Language for the Development i.e. Objective C is easy to grasp. GCC can compile all C,C++ and Objective C so projects can utilize all three languages
. - You need an Intel Based machine running MAC OS X. People usually prefer MAC Minis.
Android
Due to its Open Source Nature its a promising place for ambitious developers and many OEMs are shipping devices with Android OS, plus its easy for Developer to upload their apps to Google apps for download unlike iphone apps store.
- Android Apps are all developed in Java.
- Eclipse is the Official IDE with ADT plugin for Android Apps Development. Or you can Download the SDK plus the Andriod Platform and start crunching Code
Well this is all for now, in part2 we will be discussing about Windows Mobile and Symbian. Thank You!
