Apple has never ever compromised for the quality of its products and that is why they have always given their followers and users more than their expectations and hence being prized for it.

Recently Apple has revealed their Antenna Design and Test Labs to public which was made considering all the quality measures and testing factors. Apple has invested almost $100 million building this advanced antenna design and test labs.

The Apple told about this lab in the Press Conference regarding iPhone 4’s antenna and also arranged a tour of Reporters and Bloggers of this custom built wireless testing lab. This tour was led by Ruben Caballero who is a Senior Engineer and Antenna expert at Apple.

This lab consists of 17 different antenna characterization chambers or (or anechoic chambers). An anechoic chamber is actually a room which stops reflections of either sound or electromagnetic waves and are insulated from exterior noise sources.

The interior side of this chamber has been lined with blue pyramid-shaped Styrofoam which acts as a Radiation Absorbent material (RAM) which absorbs radio frequency radiations. The anechoic chamber is usually used to perform antenna radiation patterns, Signals cross section measurements and electromagnetic compatibility (EMC).

Moreover this chamber has a robotic arm which holds the gadgets like iPad and iPhones which spins 360 degrees and at the same time Analytical software checks its wireless activity. Almost one gadget has been run through the chamber for almost 24 hours.

Actually every smart phone antenna loses strength of signal in some direction or attenuated by various sources such as the human hand can also become the cause of attenuation.

So such sorts of problems are removed during the testing of the phone and these affects are reduced to the best they can and during the development of a new phone Apple spend their 1-2 years in this lab performing antenna design and its wireless activity checking.

Moreover Apple has tested their new iPhone 4 in the same lab, checked it under various scenarios and environments and it appeared that Apple will give more excellent products and will bring the people new quality products. As it’s rightly said that When you’re out of quality you’re out of business and I hope so Apple will never compromise over it.
