Ever since  man has learnt the art to fly in the air, he has been experimenting with new and innovative designs of aircrafts to give more perfection to his Flight. From Wright flyer to Airbus A380 we have seen hundreds of thousands of designs that are well capable of flying but among all these aircrafts some of us have’t seen aircrafts that are amazing in their flight capability but grounded due to their Awful look. Today we have compiled a list of such ugly looking aircrafts which have not only paved the way in better understanding of the aircraft design but also helped in making the design better and more good looking!

    Overall, you nailed it, but I must disagree on the inclusion of the A-7 Corsair. Not the most eye catching, but not ugly. Personal taste I guess.Could of included the JU-88 Stuka. Good catch of the rest of them though.

    Sorry but i cant agree with the Handley Page Victor (below the Gannet) being on the list it’s an amazing futuristic looking airplane even now and it was first flown in the early 50s and i think it actually broke the sound barrier

    There is no way on this earth that the Handley Page Victor is an ugly aircraft – The photo shown does not do it justice. A view from the side makes the aircraft look very different.

    Those poor 707s look embarrassed to be out in public.

    However, the Handley Page Victor, as someone else correctly pointed out, is one of the most beautiful aircraft ever designed. Just not from the angle in that photo!

    Some really UGLY stuff in the aeronautical world but check out some of the last ditch German efforts circa 1943-44 ie the “Natter” and one of the Arado aircraft

    On review, the Chance Vought Corsair was beautiful, the Handley Page Victor just awesome and even the Guppy was and still is beautiful in its functionality. It’s designed to carry stages of space rockets – it can’t look like a bloody Spitfire.

    You’re right, it was the 87 not the 88, my bad. You could add to this list, anything put out by the Mig bureau1960-1980, the Fencer, Flanker, Frogger and Foxbat, sturdy aircraft, but no style to them.

    I think the last one is a regular aircraft with a hangar in the background.

    Also, I find the Corsair, the Martini and the Handley Page Victor pretty badass! They look like they popped out or a G.I.Joe cartoon!

    The only one I find truly ugly es the MIG-320, the others are either cute or hilarious, the belphego looks like it coud’ve been on Wacky Races lol

    Most of the Aircraft here are Genuinely Ugly, the Boeing EC-18B & IAI Phalcon 707 in particular, however…

    The “Handley Page Victor B(or K)MK-2″ V Bomber is NOT Ugly, especially when viewed in her original 
    “Anti-Flash White” Paint, not to mention her Design was so far ahead of her Era that in the 80′s one USAF Air Marshall mistook her for a Brand new Top Secret Aircraft ; )

    The “Bartini Beriev VVA-14″ Ekranoplan/Aircraft Hybrid & “Mil Mi-12″ Helicopter Prototype are also not truly Ugly, just shown here in poor Quality Photographs.
