The new MD-254 Sitecom Home Storage Center is a medium storage device which can be used to save photos, music and movies in one central location to share with everyone on the home network. New features, such as Twonky Media Server, Logitech Squeezebox Server and Apple Time Machine support, the Home Storage Center makes it even more attractive.

The new MD-254 Home Storage Center is a convenient solution  for storing and sharing files, family photos, music collections, videos, e-mail addresses of friends or important documents. The Home Storage Center allows you to easily and safely store all these files in one central location to share with all users on the network. In contrast to external hard drives that connect to a single computer to back up data, the Home Storage Center connects to all computers connected to your home network, allowing you to share all the multimedia catalogs available. The MD-254 has some new features, such as: Twonky Media Server, Logitech Squeezebox Server support Apple Time Machine and a print server. Already appreciated features are retained in the previous version as the iTunes server, BitTorrent client and FTP server.

Everyone has to run the backup data, but with a growing number of home devices this can be long and complex. The MD-254 Home Storage Center makes backing up data easy and fast: this operation can be performed on schedule or in real time, while the software continues to update the data simultaneously on the ‘Home Storage Center.Mac users can use Apple Time Machine. The MD-254 is equipped with an intelligent backup button that lets you copy, immediately, all files from a USB device or an external hard drive directly to the Home Storage Center.

The Home Storage Center offers the possibility to use two hard drives, 3.5 ”.Inserting two hard drives of the same size, RAID1 mirroring technology (Redundant Array of Independent Disks) will automatically activate it possible to increase data security because it will always save a copy on the second hard drive. If a disk fails, the user can simply insert a new record: the contents will be copied automatically to the new medium. You can also switch to RAID0 technology for increased performance and storage capacity of two hard drives.

The MD-254 is compatible with Windows and Mac computers, and facilitates the management of access to folders and groups of users. This is ideal for parents who want to restrict access to important files or movies are not suitable for children. The integrated print server allows users to share a printer with all computers on the network.

With Twonky Media Server integrated, the Home Storage Center serves as a central media hub and connects to the digital media renderer (DMR) as a DLNA Certified Network TV Media Player or TV HDD Media Player to use music, movies and photos on your TV without to a computer.

The Home Storage Center Server also supports the Logitech Squeezebox and allows the user to browse and play content stored in the network with a Logitech Squeezebox player. In addition, the MD-254 has a built-in iTunes server that allows the user to store or watch streaming media files on a Mac or Windows computer on the network.

The BitTorrent client enables you to manage your downloads peer to peer, because the user can download BitTorrent files via the ‘Home Storage Center while the computer is off.

With the Home Storage Center, Sitecom also introduces the ‘Media Control application for iDevice ( link ) that allows users to better and faster access to their catalogs digital media. The application allows you to navigate the Media Control App catalogs in digital media stored in the ‘Home Storage Center or on other servers DMS (Digital Media Server) DLNA certified directly from Apple or Android mobile devices such as iPhone, iPad, or Android. The user can then assign a server certificate DLNA DMS, such as products or Network TV Media Player HDD Media Player TV and display its contents on the TV.
