Twitter feed on Search Results pages have been introduced by Google after when it has closed its search engine in China.
The feed actually appears on the website of Google Hong Kong http://www.google.com.hk and user are redirected to this website from China.
However Twitter Feed doesn’t appear on all pages of search and appear only on those searches which has terms which are famous on twitter.

Greenlight marketing Inc. has recently released an image that shows how different search engines are rated through out the world which clearly shows the dominance of Google in most parts of the world.
Yahoo has bee struggling it way in USA and some other countries like India and UK while in countries like China and Russia their own search engines have quite a strong hold over there.
